Resep Gongso Ayam dan Buncis

Hai hai hai … kembali lagi bereksperimen di dapur sebagai chef amatiran. Hihi

Kali ini resep yang akan saya bagikan sebenarnya sudah sering saya masak, namun berhubung kemarin-kemarin masih malas alhasil baru sempet sekarang deh niat ditulis di blog. Gongso, cukup familiar dan sedikit pasaran mungkin di kalangan orang Jawa. Variasinya pun beragam bisa disesuikan dengan selera masing-masing.

Biasanya saya membuat gongso dari ayam, udang, bakso, kerang, ataupun tahu. Pelengkapnya yaitu sayuran hijau bisa mulai dari sawi, kol, buncis, tomat dan wortel. Berhubung saya suka sayur ya saya pakai macam-macam sayuran. Namun kalo orang jualan kayaknya syh yang lazim cuma sawi doank. Berhubung di kulkas sawinya abis, untuk gongso kali ini saya lengkapi dengan buncis. Tetap enak kok di lidah saya. 😀

My Kind of Evening Snacks

Do you like snacking in the evening?

I usually work out in the evening, so when I get home and I’m hungry, I’ll reach into the fridge, grab any kind of food that could fulfill my tummy monster. Sometime I also made an instant noodle. I try limiting to eat an instant noodle since that’s unhealthy food. So, recently I thought I should eat healthy food even for snack time! Yep, that’s what I thought.

I love combining fiber and protein like boiled vegetables plus chicken nuggets or eggs.  I also add some raw vegetables to make my menu healthier like tomato, cucumber or avocado. Fresh vegetables and fruits still my favorite.

Got some fresh avocados this week and decided to utilise those before they get too mashy.  As Avocados are highly nutritious and have numerous health benefits, its wiser to include them in our regular food items as much as possible. :D

Protein is filling and takes longer to digest than carbohydrates, so any snack you eat should be small.

I Think I am Starting To Love To Cook

What do you think of women who can’t cook?gongso ayam 

In my opinion, there are two terms of women:

1. Can’t cook, but willing to try or learn.

2. Can’t cook, doesn’t care. Not willing to try.

The first I can forgive. Many people don’t know to cook anything other than instant noodle, pasta, and boiled water. So it’s not uncommon. As long as they are willing to learn and help out, I don’t mind. It can be a good way from what I’ve experienced.

The second where I get annoyed. I’m not the type of person who thinks it’s a woman’s job to cook. I think EVERYONE should learn. It’s a basic life skill.

Satu lagi nyh minuman tradisional khas Semarang yang wajib dicoba, wedang tahu!

Wedang tahu ya bukan wedang ronde lho. Wedang yang dijajakan memakai pikulan ini sekilas hampir mirip dengan wedang ronde. Kuahnya yang hangat dengan rasa pedas jahe dan rempah-rempah lainnya berpadu dengan manisnya campuran gula pasir dan gula jawa. Jamu Jun, Minuman Tradisional Khas Semarang

Pernah mendengar Jamu Jun gag?

Hayooo bagi sebagian warga Semarang bahkan mungkin ada yang belum pernah mencobanya sama sekali. Bagaimana tidak, keberadaannya sekarang bagai ditelan zaman. Untunglah saya masih sempat menikmati minuman tradisional ini. Tepatnya tahun 2008 silam awal perkenalan saya dengan Jamu Jun.

Saat itu saya diundang dosen saya main ke rumahnya di daerah Gang Baru (salah satu daerah pecinan di Semarang) khusus untuk menikmati Jamu Jun. Rupanya dosen saya punya tukang jamu langganan yang bisa dipanggil. Awalnya saya tak terlalu antusias dengan undangan beliau. ‘Yaelah disuruh dateng ke rumahnya cuma buat minum jamu?’ begitu pemikiran saya dulu. Namun ternyata pada akhirnya saya malah jadi semangat banget. Dari sebuah jamu ternyata ada banyak hal yang bisa digali. Express Getaway to Cimory on The Valley

Good morning fellas!

Yay akhirnya bisa mampir juga ke Cimory On The Valley, Restaurant and Milk Factory yang ada di Semarang beberapa waktu lalu. Gag ada rencana syh mau ke sini. Padahal dulu pas awal-awal buka udah rencana ma anak-anak Geki mau ke sini tapi lum jadi-jadi. Giliran dadakan ehh langsung berangkat aja. Emang dasar nyh anak-anak penyakit lamaaa!

Berhubung anak-anak lagi pengen main tapi yang gag jauh-jauh amat dari rumah dan gag makan waktu banyak maka dipilihlah Cimory sebagi tujuan jalan-jalan kali ini. Continue reading

What’s for breakfast?

I LOVE breakfast.

It may be my most favourite meal of the day. I am usually STARVING when  I wake up. I would get up and make myself one slice of bread with some cheese as my starter breakfast or fried rice. You know, just to tide me over until I get to work. I would usually have that with an apple or any other piece of fruit that I have in my home.

I do love to eat something nice and warm and filling in the mornings. My preferred breakfast =  something that contains  protein because I find that protein tides me over a lot longer in the mornings than just a carb. For my breakfasts, I keep it simple so I choose eggs (btw talking about eggs, I just learned that they are a better source of iron than spinach (need to research that).

I am looking at cutting out all the very starchy carbs like bread, rice and potatoes. I have already started and eat other carb alternatives like bananas. Yes I loooooove bananas! This complicates my breakfast life even further because it feels like so little food! What would fill me up if I don’t eat rice?

So I would LOVE some cool breakfast ideas from you.

I Need The Crunchy Things

Yay akhirnya bias nulis lagi setelah 3 harian ini si lepi ngambek minta install ulang dan kabel baterai minta ganti juga. Huuuh

Btw I REALLY need ‘the crunchy things’.

Badly.

You know the satisfaction of the crunchy things in your mouth?

It usually comes with eating crunchy things like chips, biscuits, toast and anything that makes that crunching sound. I never ever realised this before but I think I may be addicted to the crunch. Yeaah … emang gag sehat syh, cuma sesekali gak papa kan ya?So anyway. I didn’t realise that I may have this issue as well.  It’s never been a big deal in my life and for the most part I managed it with junk  foods!  uuuh

Sepertinya saya butuh cemilan yang sehat namun tetep crunchy nyh, tapi apa? ada saran? However,  managing the crunch healthily is just not as awesome as managing the crunch with chips and biscuits. Salty snacks are more AWESOME for the crunch. the big hard kind, and yes the salt seems to be part of it. Ini bener-bener guilty pleasure deh … ampuuuuuun
