When I am Extremely Busy

It is a busy busy world out there, and at times it feels like there’s just not enough hours in the day to conquer it all. A full time job, pregnancy, healthy eating, a social life, extracurricular activities, and we’re supposed to rest? How are we supposed to keep up????

I think finding balance in our day to day lives takes effort. Balance is hard, but it is doable. These are ways that I’ve found work for me when I juggle one billion things happening at once & I hope they work for you too!

1. Prep

I always, always, always have everything ready that I need for the following day prepped the night before. I’m out of the house at 7:30 am, so to avoid waking up at an obscene hour, I make sure all of my food, my outfit are planned out the night before. Not only does it keep me organized, but most importantly my mornings are NEVER stressful. Who wants to start stressing about small, silly things at 7 am? Not me.

Side note, some people find it life saving to prep their food for the week. I’ve done this, and don’t personally enjoy it or find that it fits with my schedule. This whole balance thing takes some experimenting to find what works best for you.

2. Consistency

As much as I love change and spicing things up, I do love a routine. For example: when it comes to my workouts. Consistency is key when it comes to our physical health. Consistency is key, really, to accomplishing anything we want to achieve.

3. A bed time

As kids, we never wanted to hear the words bed time, right? But as an adult, I think it’s one of the most important things we can give ourselves. I’ll admit, I’m a certified ‘grandma’ and love going to sleep early, mainly because I know I feel and function my best when I get 7-8 hours every night. Once 10/10:30pm approaches, it’s lights out no matter what so I can be certain I can push through another long day and feel energized throughout.

4. Me time

The last hour of the day is spent with me, myself and I. The world and it’s happenings exhaust me, and I need to be by myself to recharge. After working then cooking and getting myself ready for the following day, I open a good book and dive in. Or I work on this blog or my YouTube channel. Whatever you feel like puts you at ease, do it. Most importantly, this is also my time I stop answering emails and messages about work. I don’t know about you, but I need to keep my sanity, so disconnecting from technology is what works for me.

I hope I’ve given you something to think about and maybe some ideas to help improve balance in your own life.

And please – if I am missing something that we must know – leave it in the comments below!  I’d also love to hear if you try to do any of the things I’ve mentioned above and found them helpful.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I was thinking that I had sleep disorder. I merely sleep before 11PM because I cant!
